“Not only does the English Language
borrow words from other languages, it sometimes chases them down dark
alleys, hits them over the head, and goes through their pockets.”
-Eddy
Peters
“At no time is freedom of speech more precious than when a man hits his thumb with a hammer.”
~Marshall Lumsden
Language and linguistics has always
fascinated me; from the simplest exclamations and “meaningless” vowels
to the most complex neurolinguistics.
The most fascinating thing about language and linguistics is the fact that we function so well in its organized chaos.
My view of language and its elements is more
technical than not. As a linguist, my interests include corpus
linguistics, language borrowing/transfer and lexicology. As a
language user, my interests include epic movies, and good
food.
I have degrees in TESL and Linguistics. Currently I am based in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. Contact me here.
